The Kabataang Liberal ng Pilipinas joined the Coke Planet Project 2007: A Race to Save the Earth by Coca Cola Company. The activity gathered different youth organizations around the Metro Manila to make step and save the mother earth from environmental destruction.

The first phase of the project was a blogging competition being competed by 126 organizations. The blogging competition dealt on the theme 10 steps to save mother earth.

“KALIPI is not only training the youths on the world of politics but also on being a leader on different ways.” Sec-Gen. Jan-Argy Tolentino said. “The Coke Planet Project showed the youth’s awareness, concern and actions on different environmental problems.” Prof. Tolentino added.

Over 1200 youths trooped to the SM Mall of Asia for the final program of the project last 20 October 2007.

The fourth year students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines taking up Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering in partnership with KALIPI-PUP have conducted a successful research and extension program which aims to help the underprivileged public elementary and secondary schools from different parts of Luzon, particularly in Oriental Mindoro, Pangasinan, Ilocos, La Union and Isabela. The extension programs include series of seminars on latest technology, Math, Science and English proficiency and other topics for the community. They have also donated computer sets, TVs, sound system and other educational instructional materials to the beneficiary school.

On October 6, 2007 to show our gratitude to the people who made these project possible KALIPI-PUP will conduct a sem-break  thanks giving concert at the prime gimmick place Metro Comedy Bar in West Avenue, Quezon City .

The concert with the title “CAMPUS MUSIC SCENE” will feature some of today’s hottest OPM bands CALLA LILY, ITCHYWORMS and SOAPDISH and Metro’s top stand-up comedian together with some university bands and other talents.

The event also serves as a fund raising activity that may become another venue for our chapter to make more projects and extension programs. This also serve as a get together party for KALIPI members from different chapters celbrating the 18th anniversary of KALIPI.. Students from PUP and also from various colleges and universities with KALIPI CHAPTERS (CEU, UE, SAN SEBASTIAN, UST, PLM, CCM, UP, BSU, LYCEUM, RTU etc.) around the metro are invited.
